Biotin is found in many foods, but
generally in lower amounts than other
water-soluble vitamins.
Egg yolk, barley, liver, and
yeast are rich sources of
biotin.
Large national nutritional surveys in
the U.S. were unable to estimate biotin
intake due to the scarcity of data on
the biotin content of food. Smaller
studies estimate average daily intakes
of biotin to be from 40 to 60 mcg/day
in adults.
