Interesting read, 2007-10-17
This book is a must read for all people, not just African Americans. Understanding that there are definately minor physiological/genetic differences among ethnic groups is critical to receiving and providing healthy treatment for disorders. Knowing what vitamins and minerals are key to human development gives the reader an informed perspective on how to change diet to increase the standard of living. The author has made a solid effort to inform the reader.

Vitamins & Minerals from A to Z, 2000-04-10
This is a wonderful book that details a medical perspective of differences between Africans and Caucasians and will point you in the right direction toward health. It is fantastic to read a book written by someone who has had the "benefit" of western training and realizes the gaps in "knowledge" in that system. Dr. Jewel Pookrum does a marvelous job of chronicling chemical reactions, differences that are melanin-related and opens the doors to a deeper understanding of health. This is information that we as a people, MUST grasp before the human genome biological apocalypse is released.
I recommend also any books by Queen Afua and African Holistic Health : Complete Herb Remedy Guide, Disease Treatment, Nutrition, Diet, Wholistic Perspectives, African Herb History, Self Diagnosis by Llaila O. Afrika.
